linux kernel: large routing tables

Hi, does anyone have the "large routing tables" option of the Networking options in the kernel, compiled in??

It says for use if your routing zones grow above 64 entries... does this only mean the routes when you type /sbin/route?
Or does it also apply to routes used with netfilter/conntrack/masquerading etc?.... Would it do any harm to compile this in?

My box is used as a router with a cable modem, on a network of 5 machines

TIA

Duncan
