Does anyone know of any invoice software solution that allows for customization (or is open source)? I currently work with Quickbooks Invoice Manager 2009. It allows me to customize invoices graphically.
I DO NOT need a full-fledged program that Quickbooks is usually associated with. I'm simply interested in the invoicing/estimate aspect. Is there anything out there that can fit my needs on Linux (paid or free)? I don't mind if I have to code a bit.
Also, I would rather stay away from web solutions.
@ceyx: I was hoping to get more programs than Gnucash. It's invoicing aspect isn't very mature and there would be a lot of work for me to get it to the level I want.
@jefro: Hardly what I need. I had read through that before I asked. Open/LibreOffice, while it has the ability to make invoices look nice and is able to do calculations, it doesn't have the ability to manage dozens/hundreds of invoices easily.
Openoffice can do thousands of invoices, the suite is more powerful than you give it credit for. Base can interact with almost any database locally or remotely.
BLaZuRE I agree 100% with what you are saying. I have tried Nevitium too and Gnucash and OpenOffice and I know their short-comings. You can also try www.emadar.com
Not sure about the latest release. Im also thinking about resorting to the on-line invoicing. If you find something I think theres plenty of others waiting for something that works.
LOCbook http://www.locbook.net is a Linux accounting package which may be of interest to you. They are really easy to work with if you need customization. The software is free so it might be worth looking at it.
Many thanks to all those that responded to this thread, which I just found!
I'm trying to change our invoicing sofware too..
I have a database of customers, I can export->import to the new software of course.
I just need to select a customer, type the blurb and print and post the invoices via snail mail. that's all. Do you have any recommendations?
Tom Lawrence of the Sunday Morning Linux Review speaks highly of KMyMoney. I believe I've heard him say on the podcast that he uses it for his business.
