Post Linux Installation

I have installed win 2000 professional in C drive
can I install linux in the same drive too.

There are Linux distros that run from a file on a Windows partition, but that has a severe performance hit on the Linux install.

If you want a decent install you should look in to repartitioning your hard disk.

I don't know if they're still doing it, but Mandrake used to have the option of installing into a huge file on your Windows partition, called Mandrake Lnx4Win.

Somewhere there's a thread already on a similar theme...

I believe demo linux can run right from your hard drive but if you really want to learn linux i recommend that you just make another partition and dual boot it.
