Post Linux Install Help

Hi all, I'm having a real problem installing linux. I can install Mandrake 9 and 9.1 no problem, but I want something new, so i tried to install Peanut linux and Slackware. I install them both, everything seems fine until the installation finishes and i restart. I get a black screen with LI on it and thats it, what an i doing wrong?

look up lilo error codes. I know the amount of letters printed means something, but I don't remember what it is. It's probably just a misconfigure of Lilo seeing as how it's a bit harder to setup in slack than mandrake.

It sounds like you have a corrupted lilo.conf file (at least that's what I think I remember from other people's experience). I think if you can login via a boot disk, you can fix lilo by entering something like "lilo" at the prompt (probably have to enter "su" and supply the root password to get root permissions to fix things). You can do a google search for this now that you have some idea of what is the problem. It is pretty common.
