Linux Imaging?

is there any linux package that can do what Norton Ghost server can do? i was wondering if you can setup PXE linux server to backup existing machines and deploy new images for new ones. our company uses Altiris Deplyiment Solution (very expensive stuff)but i was wondering if there is any open source cheaper and preferably free. alternative. is there any online guide to setup a deployment/imaging linux server?
