Linux HOW-TOs..
Ok.. Dumb, easy question I know.. But for some reason I am unable to find the HOW-TOs in any directory.. I am running Mandrake 9.2, and have been now for about 3 months.. Its great, and I get most of my help online.. But. I wanted to get a little better feel for the command line and would like to read a few HOW-TOs from the command line.. Never really needed to before, and have no idea were they are located.. Please help..

Which HowTos are you looking for?

You'll need to install the howto package. Rpms for various distributions (shouldn't matter which as the howtos are the same regardless of which distribution!) can be found on :

The howtos will install into /usr/share/doc/howto/

It's in the distro, just install it (-> configuration - packaging - install software and search for howto) if it's not already there. They should be located under more applications - documentation but only if you downloaded the updates that fixed that update-menus -v problem. So if you haven't updated, do so.
