Linux gives a bad message while booting
When linux boots, it just hangs up and repeatedly gives the following message
hda: DMA interrupt recovery hda: lost interrupt the version is Mandrake Linux 10.1 Someone please help me because it is urgent, iam a student and i have to finish my project on linux platform. thnx |
If you have "enhanced mode" for your IDE drives selected in your BIOS, try changing it to "compatibility mode." That "fixed" a similar problem for me.
Alternative possibility: Loose or oxidized drive cables. Unplug and re-plug in each drive cable to "clean" the connection. |
I have these error messages on my server for 3 years. Never lost a bit.
Uhm... if you run a fschk and you don't get any errors, maybe you can ignore it. jlinkels |
before recieving this message , there is also a message like this
hdd: IRQ query failed hdc: IRQ query failed can someone please help me to sort this problem, because linux is just not starting, it just hangs up there with above messages on the screen. |
