Linux-FS for Windows?

Hi!

I currently have my /home-dir on a FAT32-partition so I can also use some data with windows (which I need for some things at the university).
However, as FAT32 does not support file permissions, all .zip-files that I wrote with Windows are executable under Linux and there are some other annoyances.

Is there a way to use a Linux-filesystem on Windows (ie. ReiserFS, Reiser4) or is there a filesystem that is usable on both systems that does support file permissions?

Thanx,
Christoph

nope. the only improvement in permissions on windows file systems comes in the form of ntfs, which has much poorer access in linux. there is no better solution than fat32 unfortunately

You could try something like Explore2fs or Ext2fsnt on Windows. Those will, atleast in theory, let you access an ext2 partition from Windows. I haven't used them, so I can't say how well they would work, but they might be worth a shot.

i think ext2 can be read under windows quite safe (but not fast). i don't think there are reiser or ext3 implementions for ms.
