linux for gray PSone - could somebody help?

hi people.

i'm having a gray PSone gathering dust on the top of my storage shelf. i'm looking for a linux capable of running under this hardware. ps is chipmodded, so i can run any cds.

i already looked around (in fact i was ripping Google apart to find this) and i found only an abandoned project called "runix". every found download link was dead. i found completely no mirrors. their sites "runix.biz", "runix.ru" and "runix.ro" don't have download, are incorrect or dead.

in short - no hope of finding this without your help.
does someone have this (or something similar) / knows where to find it?

I think you're boned. the searches i did for runix indicate that it was primarily for the ps2 anyways. Probably the only way you're getting anything on that is to build it yourself. i also couldn't get anything about gettin any other kind of OS on it. I suppose you'd have to start by figuring out how it 'boots' i seem to remember a 'broswer' being an option if there was no disk in the drive, so there is /something/ on there. It has 2 mb of memory and 1 mb of vram, so linux would be hard to squeeze on there anyways.

Sorry couldn't be of more help.

God, you're insatiable! Here:

http://ask.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=07/04/28/0147203

"Get one of those cheat cartridges with parallel ports (Game Shark, Action Replay, etc). They come cheap, $3-$10 on ebay [ebay.com] at the moment. Reflash the EPROM and you're ready to inject your own code [c02.at], or simply watch some demos [pouet.net].The problem with the carts is that they interface either to an ISA card or a DIY parallel port interface, both of which are rapidly going the way of the dodo. There is an USB Commlink interface, but in its current implementation it is slow as molasses and completely unsuitable for development."

http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.runix.ru
The last website they have archived doesn't sound too hopeful.

"On some reasons I stopped all work on PSX Linux at 2004. I understood that it’s impossible to make real ( not only Kernel) PSX Linux without special hardware add-on block."

Also in there, not same page: We've moved! redirect here: http://www.runix.biz/
It's in russian, but translates with babelfish.

Anyway, there in the 01's they have a bunch of sites that look promising. If you have any success (or if I look around a little bit more) post here for documentation, please.

so there's no big hope... anyway, i think that it can at least make for a great case mod. home server looks ugly just laying there without any case. thanks for your help.
