Linux error: Kernel Panic
hello
recently i installed my Hewlett Pakcard Notebooks ZE 4101 with RedHat Linux 8.0. Before the installation, this notebook is running Win XP Professional. Now I install Red Hat Linux 8.0 for dual boot. The installation for RedHat Linuex seems running smoothly. Once the installation complete, i restart my computer and the GRNU boot loader prompt up for OS selection. There are 2 choices in the OS selection one is Red Hat linux the other one is Window XP. I choose the Red Hat linux then it start running and loading all the registry and other files. Once to the point where it reach to the kernel. my machine start to hang and give me an error message : "kernel panic" the light keep blinking and my comptuer just halt from there. I restart many time but the same thing still happen. is there any command i can type in the boot loader prompt to skip the kernel so i won't receive that "kernel panic" error message. |
skip the kernel???
linux is the kernel |
kernel panic is Linux's dying words
"kernel panic" is the last error message you get. It means that Linux has completely failed. Before the kernel panic message there are probably several error messages describing what in particular is going wrong. If you could post all of the kernel error messages then maybe we could begin to solve your problem.

wow, this doesn't look good. Seems to be a problem with ISA PnP (hope it's that and not something about PCI IRQ).
well... try to turn off PnP in the BIOS and see what happen... I don't really know how to do with RedHat, but you might need a kernel that not include PnP. |
how can i disable php from the bios!!!! can anyone help me to resolve my kernal panic errors.
