Linux equivalent of Orcad Capture/PSPICE circuit simulator


Orcad Capture is basically a tool for visually constructing circuits with PSPICE models of components.

I can't run it under WINE, so I am trying to find an equivalent of this software under Linux. I've found replacements for the simulation side of things (eg. ng-spice) but almost nothing for the "pretty pictures" side of things.

Has anyone out there used this software and found a replacement? (Please note that I have searched, but want the opinions of people who were better at it than I.)

which version. I had 9.2 spice working. I just did small schematics did not try simulations. It should run with the latest wine

I was trying 9.1 -- will try 9.2 with WINE.

Okay... that's a 182MB download. Maybe not.

Added: Got it, it installs and runs (Capture does, anyway), I can open projects but I can't place parts. It's probably something straightforward, so I'll see...

...no, it's definitely not going to cooperate. And there is no additional output from wine indicating any failure. But officially, it works:
