linux echo effect

I am using Linux, and I want to have a live echo effect for my soundcard, I'll explain: I want that when I say something in the mic it's directly heard from the Sound Card with an echo effect. Ask me if you don't understand my poor English and correct me please.

Poster wants something kind of like EAX on soundblaster live audigy cards where he can have "special effects" when he uses his soundcard.

These are options for EAX in Windows.

Is there any way to take advantage of EAX in linux?
