I have Red Hat Linux 7.2 installed on vmware but cannot get the X Window to work. I tried using other drivers and they were no good either. Tried downloading Linux drivers from ATI and still didn't work. Linux is just booting up in text mode but I want to load the GUI. Can anyone please help me?? I have a 9800 pro

What have you tried? Can you be more specific? Is the fglrx module loaded?

I just found out that only the Vesa drivers work. ATI and radeon drivers will not work on a virtual machine, it will only work if Linux is installed on a physical hard drive. How do I change the graphic settings using the command line?

This command should do it for you:
fglrxconfig |
