1. Why do we need to use virtual simulation software such as VirtualPC, VirtualBox and VMWare to install linux?
2. Why linux OS always came with newer version and updates?
3.What support does linux OS distros normally give to their users?
Linux and Windows have similar functions(for example Internet Explorer-Mozilla Firefox).
What are the similarities/differences between these software?
Despite the above "CLOWNS", Linux has a lot of support.
Updates within the Linux community occur more often than Microsoft due to it's nature of Independence. Where once an authorized author is certified, he doesn't have to wait for his/her CEO's approval.
Paid support is available.
Live CD's are the most common form of distribution, and not network install. That option is for business professionals on the majority side.
Linux will "Emulate" many MS progs., and of course, MS 'developed' a lot of knock-off linux progs.
There essentially the same as far as productivity, which alas, lies within the 'user's' hands...
Per the LQ Rules, please do not post homework assignments verbatim. We're happy to assist if you have specific questions or have hit a stumbling point, however. Let us know what you've already tried and what references you have used (including class notes, books, and Google searches) and we'll do our best to help. Also, keep in mind that your instructor might also be an LQ member.

No need to comment on it but read the rules. posting homework questions is voiding LQ rules. And doing their homework should also void them.
Also spoon feeding will not take OP anywhere. Trying to find out solutions for the problem teaches better than anything.

We??? I don't. Therefore all of 'we' doesn't. If the 'you' part of 'we' does, maybe you would like to say why you need to use "virtual simulation software such as VirtualPC, VirtualBox and VMWare to install linux?" and include it in your homework. Otherwise you are just using something without having a good reason for it.

2. Why linux OS always came with newer version and updates?
...because they are newer...
You say 'Linux OS', so presumably you don't mean a Distro or many Distros, but the kernel. This, or at least the new features, can be read from mailing lists specialised to this subject.
On a side note I will say that I believe that evolution occurs, which I am sure will annoy some people, but would you ask why evolution keeps coming up with 'improved models'?

It depends. The distro sites will normally give details, but there are only a couple of hundred major ones so have fun making a list of those. Many give the option of paying for a support contract of some kind. Read the details in the contracts.

Mozilla Firefox is not a function of Linux nor is it one of Windows. Its a piece of software and you can run it on either. On Windows it has pretty much the same functions as it does on Linux. So, in that case, you could say that there is virtually no difference in the piece of software, although even then it would be wrong to say that Firefox is always completely and exactly identical to Firefox because to an extent its funtions depend on underlying libraries and those may be a function of the operating system environment.
Internet Explorer and Moz FF have similar functions but the internal details are really rather different.
