Linux Distro

Hi guys dumb question I installed Ubuntu 16.04 on my desktop everything worked but I like using using simple scan because I scan a lot of documents but it doesn't requnized the scanner and I even downloaded the drivers for the printer Epson xp-330 and nothing I was going to try Linux mint and see the difference but Linux should all the same right

I went back to W10 so I can scan but I really hate this OS it sucks badly like a vista OS resource hog

If you put XP-330 in the link below, you will see that no scanner driver is listed for Linux, only Windows and Mac:

I would suggest getting a replacement printer/scanner from HP since HP is usually Linux-friendly.

Others may have different recommendations.

Either way, use Google to make sure that the replacement has Linux drivers available.

No, different distros include a different set of drivers. One thing you can try is to d/l Mint, put it on a DVD or USB, then boot to it and see if it can deal with your scanner.

This might help. But yes you need a driver or a different printer.
