Linux distribution update package
 

Hello my friend...
I want a Linux distribution that don't need to update packages.
Can you introduce a distribution?

No updates at all? Or as few updates as dialup finds tollerable?

Debian stable is low on the updates. Most distros intended to run from optical mediums would by default not update. Pros and cons though. A lot of websites now actively prevent you from accessing them with old versions of java or flash, so you kind of have to update these days. Or else you find things less and less functional and more and more vulnerable.

OK, to expand, all Linux distributions will work as they are and it is not necessary to update any packages in order to have a working system. However, if the system is to be attached to the internet then there will be patches which must be applied in order to ensure that the system is secure.
So, no, it you want a distribution for daily use that will not require updates then such a distribution does not exist and likely will never exist.
So, yes, if you want to install a distribution on a machine that will be self-contained you can install almost all distributions that will install on your hardware.

Go for a stable, reliable distribution that does primarily security updates after each stable release, such as Slackware, Debian, or CentOS.

there is no real operating systems like that

Not Linux nor Apple nor Microsoft, make such a thing ....

I have Debian Wheezy 7.1 on a G5 PPC and i don't remember ever been updated since i installed.
unless it does it by itself without me knowing!

^ It doesn't (but you could script it to do so!), but it is on 7.4 now.

The /etc/issue file doesn't update to 7.4 if you do update manually. Although "lsb_release -a" reports 7.4 if you check that way.
