Linux Distribution Justification

Can someone give me a link to a website clearly stating the need(s) for a linux distribution.

Especially as it would relate to a niche market, or generic technology.

Thanks!

Hi there ...

Can you please rephrase this? I don't
understand what you are after.

Do you mean: Why are there distributions?
Or: What system specification would I need
to run e.g. RedHat?
Or: Can I use such and such braille-reader
with this distro?

Cheers,
Tink

Anyone is free to attempt to create a Linux distribution that is useful to them or that they feel may be useful to someone else and offer it to the public so long as the software license for all contributions are honored.
Linux is the kernel and there are many programs that can be included or not.
Most all distros would feel there is some need for them.

Thanks, Tinkster.
Unfortunately, I am none the wiser.

Are you asking for a list of, lets say 'target audiences' for distros with justification of why they suit that group?
