Linux +Crossover Office Standard + iTunes

iTunes performs properly in linux through Crossover office, but I was hoping that I t would detect my Ipod as if in windows so I could update it through iTunes. Unfortunately it doesn't but I was wondering if anyone had gotten it to work, or had a feasible alternative?
