linux crash log

Hi,

where does linux specifically stores memory dump in case of kernel panic? Is there a program that i could set up in the background that will constantly update, so that in the case of system freeze or shutdown i could pinpoint the exact time and cause of the crash. Not sure if its any similar to freeBSD.
I'm running fedora btw.

thx

May be you looking for sysrq support in linux kernel. if so then you can search for 'sysrq documnetation' on google.
