Linux Command Prompt Banner


Hi EveryOne!!
I want to display a banner in my command prompt when ever i open it. I have done the settings for after login banner in the motd and sshd_banner files but it only display the banner when i enter the username and password. I want it to display the banner every time i open the command prompt.
Thanks in advance for the help.

For shells that parse /etc/profile you could put a script in /etc/profile.d/ but wouldn't it be extremely annoying?
