Linux client for Microsoft VSS

Hi there,

I have been trying to look for some tools to access Microsoft VSS from Linux client.
The windows machine that I am trying to access is on a Windows Domain.

I have googled up and found Sourcesafe running with Wine.(http://www.kegel.com/linux/vss-howto.html)
But I do not prefer to use Wine..

also http://www.dynamsoft.com/SAW_Overview.html

Any more suggestions?

regards

Gaurav

I don't know of a Linux client that will talk directly to the VSS filesystem, but we used SOS many many years ago when we still used VSS:

http://www.sourcegear.com/sos/index.html

The website claims that it has a Linux client.

My suggestion would be to move away from VSS as fast as you can. It's junk!

thanks for the link, I was also trying the same, but there seems some problem with the version that they provide.

I am looking for RHEL 4.2 while they provide for Fedora ,which again brings in other dependencies.

As far as VSS is concerned, I am not in a position to take some decision for that...

regards
