Linux Backbox 32-bit or 64-bit?

What would you think is a better option?

Linux Backbox seems alot like xubuntu but has some options with "hacking" which might come in handy if I ever figure something out.

Which version of Backbox should I use?

I might use it to run some games, skype, and maybe learn programming if I wanted too.

Sorry in advance if the only posts from me are is this OS good, Im a huge newbie when it comes to linux and Im the type of person to try, but never get far.

BackBox (Xubuntu based security distro): https://backbox.org/

Note: I tried to install skype on 64-bit and it didn't work.

Hi...

What are your hardware specs specifically, such as the processor, amount of memory and video card? Also, what is your system's brand and model (and model number?) :)

What error messages did you receive, if any, when you tried to install Skype?

Regards...

I have a high-end pc that could run 64-bit just fine, it just gave me an error saying this is the wrong architecture of build when I tried to run the deb file from the skype website.

Specs
Intel I7-5820K 3.3 Ghz 6 Core - Hyperthreaded
Nvidia GTX 980 MSI 4GB

Hi...

Thank you for the information. With this much memory, you definitely need to run 64 bit. What version of Ubuntu/Xubuntu is BackBox based on and what are the repositories it's using?

Regards...

Hi...

No, this is something you will need to do. I don't use BackBox nor do I have a copy on hand. Simply go to your "etc/apt/sources.list" file and copy and paste the contents into your next post. If you don't know where to go or how to do this, you can look up how to access this file on Google. ;)
