Linux Anti virus that can scan Windows

Hi,

I am brand new to Linux.
I was wondering if there is an anti-virus software that runs under Linux (Ubuntu Live), that can scan Windows files and get rid of the viruses?

I ask this as I had a trojan that was detected, but could not be deleted under Windows; I had to us Ubuntu live to delete it, which seemed to have worked.

I would be grateful for any suggestions.

Regards

I have been using bit-defender, it just feels best and is easy to install.
