Linux & win on the same HD ?

Let me apologize first - I'm a student with limited finance, only have the one computer. Assessments are started and I get reluctant to experiment.

With the two operating systems the boot drive (don't know what to call it) seems to get swallowed on installation by Linux or win one can't find the other.

Can ya enter from either one on boot ??? Is that when you dual boot cause I haven't been able to get there, or do you just get another HD.

Anything so I can be more fluent with Linux - I have never been online with a Linux OS.

Point me to the info - muchly appreciate it.

Hey,

Well first u'll need to make 2 partitions on ur hdd.
It's splitting ur hdd n making look like it's 2 hdd on ur system.

u can do this with windows' fdisk(keep in mind u need 2 make a boot disk).

first install windows on 1 partition.
then install linux on the other, when u get into the installation menu in linux u'll get it.

u can download linux 4 free just go to a distro's site, or go to
