linux and video/audio editing

I'm thinking about installing linux on my computer, but my question is would this be a good move for a video and audio editing machine? I would need it to run all of adobe's editing programs (after effects, flash, premiere pro, just to name a few) and some of ulead's softwear (video editor 8, and painter 11). Would Linux run these programs, or would I be better off sticking to windows? Also I would like to run Final Cut Pro, would linux be able to run that?

Check http://appdb.winehq.org/ to find if those programs are running fine under wine, a Windows emulator for Linux.

But I think that you should either find Linux alternative programs, or just stick to Windows to do your job.
