linux and DVB-T, OH LORD!

good golly. that's all?!

mythtv: fancy pants UI, can't set up DVB-T
kaffeine: interlace only in backport version
me-tv: wow, it actually works out of the box! too simple though
VLC: *bowsdowninawe* yes, it plays everything, even tv, again too basic
kax: discontinued
freevo: won't start ;(
xawtv, kdetv, ... AJUIZGWFI/SDTFGOUTZESDPOZFTWESFROLUZCHSYX

is it really true, there is no program with:

1. instant timeshift: pause and rewind any time without pressing record first
2. "on screen display" EPG
3. controllable by remote control
4. DEINTERLACING IT'S 2010 A. D. FFS
5. built in channel scanning / management
6. teletext built in
7. option to shut down pc through on screen menu and sleep timer
8. PIP maybe

oh please, PLEASE tell me what to use for TV cause i ain't got no dedicated old school tv set ;(

guess i became a spoiled brat cause on win there is terratec home cinema which has all of it. gonna commit suicide if there's no decent app or reboot to wincrap. not sure yet.

I don't understand what you want to accomplish. According to the quoted text, you have 2 programs that work. Are you looking for something that makes things more complicated?

i am looking for a sophisticated solution, that will give me full timeshift control and decent image quality (deinterlacing), all that controllable with remote control from my bed (and thus needs OSD menu in full screen mode). ;(

working is cool (VLC *fanboy* ), but not nuff ;( ;( ;(
