That the nice thing about linux it is for everybody.........You will learn
Ok what kind of computer do you have? Are you running windows?
Also try this use the second CD instead of the first CD and start the installation. You will be asked for the first CD during this procedure, please exchange the CDs in this case and continue the installation process.

Ok you may want to tey this... (if you have a high speed internet & a cd brunner)
SuSE Linux for i386 Live-Eval

SuSE makes the live-eval version of SuSE Linux available for download as an ISO image. This version runs entirely from the bootable CD and is not installed on the hard disk.

If you want to get to know SuSE Linux or test if your hardware is fully supported, the live-eval version is the right choice for you.
http://www.suse.de/en/private/downlo...nux/index.html
The ISO image is located in the respective directory under ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/

hmmmm Packard Bell i have run into big issue with them on Windows.. I have never tried them with Linux.....
I have install Suse on a PII 233 and 256 ram and found it very slow.
With Packard Bell sometime they use there own parts and make hard to setup stuff.....
I love Suse but you may want to download Suse7 or Redhat 7.3
Or get a newer computer.
IF you do not want to spend a lot of money and just want to play with Linux Look at
Microtel SYSMAR737 PC With 1.1 GHz Duron (for about 200 US$)
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...%3A3944%3A3951
Then you can install Suse or another Linux on it......
