Link to Gimp instruction videos once posted by long time member
Darn... my memory.
Some years ago one of the long time members (5000+ posts for sure) had the habit of posting links to useful sites with tuturials, books or instructions. I am not sure whether he was or is a moderator. But his reputation was extremely high as well.
One of the extremely useful sites was a collection of I believe over 125 instruction videos on Gimp.
I can't remember the name of that poster. I lost the bookmark of that site. (It was bookmarked in Opera and you know what happened to Opera).
I never found the time completing the course but my son Grep now wants to invest the time in Gimp.
Can someone help... please?
jlinkels
PS. Of course I googled. But that site I didn't find. It was so good that in half of the first video I learned more about Gimp than in the 3 years before using written tutorials.
I think this is the site.
However, the link was posted on LQ forum and certainly not by Rold Steinort.
Now it is more an academic question that I cannot stand that I can't remember who posted it.
So I mark this as solved. Many thanks.
A short search for the Meet the Gimp website on the forum shows that it was in most cases recommended by fellow member frankbell. He would fit your description, long time member with high reputation.

Possibly. Once I was pointed to "meetthegimp" I searched on this forum, and indeed frankbell turned up to be the one posting this link most often.
Although frankbell is highly reputed I still think someone else was posting all those links to books and tutorials. Maybe onebuck? Now when I saw onebuck's name it did ring a bell, but he did not post "meetthegimp".
Maybe I mixed up the member recommending meetthegimp and the other person recommending the other tutorials. Memory does strange things sometimes. And it is not really relevant/
Anyway, I am grateful to everyone posting useful links like this one or others. And of course for getting the answer to a nagging question within a few hours.
