Link to a URL from the Gnome Desktop

How do I create a link to a URL from my desktop?

I would like to have a desktop icon click on it and have firefox go to that URL.

I was able to do this with Centos5 from KDE but can't find out how to do this in Suse/Gnome.

Suse 11.0/Gnome.

I'm using KDE so I don't know how it can be done using Gnome.

But there is a Firefox extension whose name is Prisim. By this extension you can create a link to an wep page like an application.
