Limit on Telnet Connections ** Urgent

Linux Redhat AS 3.0

Telnet does not permit more than 60 users, I put the command:

users=unlimited in the telnet config file and restarted the server. It still does not work

Any ideas??

Why are you using telnet in the first place?
it is unencrypted and insecure.

If you do need more than 60 users then I assume you have a pretty big system there and I wouldn't be letting *anyone* use telnet.

Use SSH.

(my apologies that this didn't answer your question)

First of all, don't mark your threads as urgent, this is a free site in which other members answer your questions in their own spare/free time. It can come off as rude and inconsiderate and no members questions has any priority over any others, so marking them urgent is not going to speed up the replies.

And I have to agree with eccles23. Unless you have a really good reason on why your using telnet over ssh, I'd suggest shutting down telnet and use ssh instead, especially if this is a server that is exposed to the world per se in an open environment, etc.

This is not a security question, my database client only allows telnet, no SSH.

If any one is smart enough to answer this question please do...
