limewire / javavm error

i am using mandrake 10 official and i installed java vm via the bin file and everything went well because mozilla will load java apps. When i try to install Limewire via bin i get this error.

[root@localhost filesharing]# ./LimeWireLinux.bin
Preparing to install...
Extracting the installation resources from the installer archive...
Configuring the installer for this system's environment...
No Java virtual machine could be found from your PATH
environment variable. You must install a VM prior to
running this program.

...I am not sure what PATH is or what they mean... Can someone help me out..

PATH is an environment variable that tells the shell where to look for binaries. To check your current PATH:
echo $PATH

Now you just have to get the java directory into that variable:
which java
export PATH

See LQ for the many other threads about this same problem...

for my this is
export PATH=$PATH:/usr/java/j2re1.4.2_04/bin
I put this in a .sh file and put this in the /home/user/.kde/Autostart folder so the command is executed every time i start kde.
If you don't do this your system will not know where it should find the program (java) to start limewire
