:-( Limewire installation: "Invocation of this Java Application has caused an Invoc"


Hi!

Slackware 9.0 running. Im trying to install LimeWire, and im kinda lost here (i googled a lot and couldnt find an answer).

When i try to run the bin installation file, i get this:

Useless to say that to get JavaJRE working wasnt exactly a walk in the park... And after all, i get this disturbing error message...


Really, i have NO IDEA about this one... : / Any help here will be welcome! :-)

Same problem

I am getting the same problem. Did you have any luck fixing it?

a fix to your problem...

you need to install this package..

http://rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/fedora/...3.21.i386.html

and all will work fine.

THE EASIEST way of getting around that problem is to physically log on as root and then install limewire in the shell:

su
sh ./LimeWireLinux.bin

You'll get sent straight to the GUI installation.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO INSTALL PACKAGES. That is way overboard (in my opinion).
