dvdshrink installation w/ wine

ok, am new to linux.

i have successfully installed java, configured it to work w/ all browsers and even installed limewire w/ no problems.

now i have installed vobcopy, and wine, now am trying to install dvdshrink.

now when i go to install dvd shrink i open up a console and enter :
wine dvdshrink317setup.exe and under my normal user it starts to install untill it gets to where its time to create the directories, and then tell me access denied cannot create directories.

now when i try to install it under root it just tell me cannot install.

so how do i get past the creating directories issuses.

i've even tired to chrange all permissions by click on the folders and selecting properties and permission, but nothing has worked.

any help would be appreciated. i can't believe i've come this far within a week w/ linux, am not about to get stuck on something this small.

bye the way, linux is great. it's quite, smooth and i have'nt had a virus @ all since i installed it earlier this week. am please.

why have you called this thread "limewire installation" when it's clearly nothing to do with limewire?

from what you say sounds ilke you should install to a different location, inside your home directory for jsut a single user.
