Angry LimeWire 4.9 does not connect

I finally got LimwWire to run after having some problems with my java. Not that it runs though, it does not connect! I live in a military installation that offers wireless internet access using WPA. I read on their web site that they limit the number of ports to useres so as not to overload the network. They claim that because of this online gameing is not available. Could it be possible that this lack of available ports is restricting my access in using LimeWire? How can I know for sure that this is the case?

Here is a quote from their web site:

"We are limiting the supporting protocols for HTTP, HTTPS, POP, SMTP and FTP by narrowing down the TCP/IP ports. As a result, some applications such as online games, e-learning, and active FTP are not currently available to our subscribers.

If we were to open up all TCP/IP ports for supporting various types of applications, there is a risk of causing frequent network congestions. This network congestion will significantly lower your access speed. We do not want to open all of the ports until we are able to properly reinforce the current wireless system."

Talk about supporting the troops...

Yes. Filesharing is one of the first things blocked by most network administrators. You are probably out of luck.
