lilo trashed, when booting from cd, lilo command is not present

So windows trashed lilo, i thought i knew how to get it back, Wrong i was. So I boot from slackware cd, but lilo command isnt present, not in /sbin or /bin either. I think its because im not actually on my system per-se. I can find my usr or home directories, so I'm thinking the cd is loading some system of its own? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

PS i have Slackware version 10.1
PPS I also dont have a floppy drive :(

Thank you in advance.

From the live CD, try to mount your filesystem (for example mount /dev/hda1 to /mnt/hda1).

Then use chroot /mnt/hda1. Then CD to the drive and you should find lilo under sbin....

or before you boot try typing "root=/dev/<<partition name>>" without the "" of course. then you will boot into your system as if you used lilo. Then you can rerun lilo.
