lilo question

greetings,

lilo question on a IBM TP running dual boot: RH 9.0 and WIN2K

i tried to remap my partitions:

> more /etc/lilo.conf

prompt
timeout=50
default=linux
boot=/dev/hda
map=/boot/map
install=/boot/boot.b
message=/boot/message
#linear
lba32

image=/boot/vmlinuz-2.4.20-28.9
label=2.4.20-28.9
append="root=LABEL=/"
read-only
initrd=/boot/initrd-2.4.20-28.9.img

other=/dev/hda1
label=WIN2K

when I run: lilo -v -v -v (extra verbosity)

i get:

[root@bono etc]# lilo -v -v -v

Removed temporary file /boot/map~

Does anyone know why the "Fatal: No images have been defined" message is coming up?

When I type: lilo -q the following is returned:
[root@bono etc]# lilo -q
Warning: mapfile created with linear option

2.4.20-24.9
linux.bak
WIN2K
linux.bak1

any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm not a lilo guru, so I may be wrong, but I think it's an internal message returned by a subthread that informs the parent there are no more entries to be processed. If it was really a fatal error, it would display even without that -v flag.

Yes - because you're

default= directive

doesn't match with any

label= directive

in the main part of lilo.conf

change label=2.4.20-28.9 to label=linux

and then run

/sbin/lilo
