LILO problem

well i just tried upgrading my kernel and i must have made a big mistake editing my lilo.conf because now all my computer does is boot up and say:
LILO 22.2 Loading Linux..............................
then it reboots and starts all over, seems like it will go on forever, sooo should i just reinstall my debian or is there anything i can do
(i had nothing important installed so its no biggie other than a waste of time to install debian)
thanks

now that i think of it, i dont understand why i even need lilo, considering that i only have one OS on this computer, which is debian, (maybe that was an option i installed during installation that i didnt realize what i was doing)
