lilo problem

Hello ...

I had some troubles with Grub so I am trying now to install Lillo.

first I found that lilo.conf is called /etc/lillo.conf.anaconda, so why is that anaconda part in the end??

I renamed it to just lilo.conf then I #lilo

it showed the following message"

Warning: device 0x0302 exceeds 1024 cylinder limit
Fatal: sector 29773236 too large for linear mode (try 'lba32' instead)

please tell me what to do?

thanks

Strange!!
i have not encountered any person moving from grub to lilo
grub is much much better than lilo in every aspect
anyway its an individual decision
abt ur prob, it seems u have a boot partition (of any os for that matter) outside 1024 cyl
if u have a new system, it should not cause any prob
but it is always better to use lba32

if u run lilo , by default it will read /etc/lilo.conf file,
just add one line anywhere before specifying label entry
line should read
lba32
thats it
