Windows XP will overwrite the LILO code on your disk making it the only bootable OS on your system. All you need to do is run liloconfig and set up LILO again.

Sorry I'm unfamiliar with Mandrake.. With Slackware, I just boot my Linux install disks, then mount my linux partition to /mnt and run /mnt/sbin/liloconfig

Hope that helps some!

If you installed XP after Linux, then Windows overwrote you MBR. To correct this, you should be able to use your Linux boot floppy (assuming you made one) or the installation CD itself to boot into Linux. From there, become root, go to the /etc directory and then just rerun lilo. That should do it -- J.W.
Code:
/sbin/lilo
