LILO help

I have searched post and found mostly people with 2 harddives etc. so please don't crucify me here.

I have installed linux mandrake 7.2 on a dell latitude. I got it up fine but it does not see the win2k ntfs partitions.

How do i get it to see these partitions and give me the option to boot into it?

thanx

dual boot setup is not that hard
see
http://www.frankenlinux.com/guides/dualboot-nt.html for two HDD's configuration
and general dual boot Lin/NT procedures http://www.computing.net/howto/advanced/linuxnt/

your problem is not about dual booting, you said you can get it up without problem. If Linux doesn't see your NTFS partition (I believe your win2k use a NTFS partition) you have to enable this option n the kernel. If you're using Fat32, Linux should already see your partition, except if you haven't mount it yet.
Ask about kernel compilation, intead

Ok, the problem isn't that Lilo can't see NTFS, but that Lilo can't see WINDOZE. That's different.
I don't know turboLinux, but I will try to help you.
First you have to edit your lilo.conf file that should be in /etc

Add something like this just after your last linux boot part:
other = /dev/hdxx (where xx should be the partition where windows is)
label = Winbloze
map-drive = 0x80
to = 0x81
map-drive = 0x81
to = 0x80
#table = /dev/hdxx (this should cuz error so It's a better idea to leave it commented)

This config is made for my system, so you will maybe have to change it.
the map-section, refer to the disk in the BIOS, the one refer to the second disk. You have to use 81 to 82 for the third disk, 82 to 83 for the forth but I'm not sure.

I think you should take a look to link neo7777 give you

I looked at link but I thought that the map drive was because of the 2 seperat harddrives sorry neo not ignoring u, especialy since u have helped me in the past. Thanx again will check it out asap will not be for about 2 weeks now, but I cannot wait to check it out. BTW the turbolinux actually sees it its the mandrake that doesn't. Now I am trying to get exp messign with LILO
