LILO Boot Loader
 

Hello,

I have just installed SuSE 9.3 Professional with LILO boot loader (because GRUB doesn't work on my machine, at least I couldn't make it).

Anyway,

I get the error:

Loading SuSE_LINUX_93EBDA too big....


and nothing happens...


It was working before I had installed it (Linux) second time. I don't think the problem occurs because of this problem, because YaST already formatted the partition before installing, or does it?

Also I have already run the system once I have installed. Then I downloaded the driver for nVidia graphics. After the reboot, I got the error as I wrote above...

Wait a minute:
You tried to install with GRUB - but GRUB gave no joy. (Install 1)
You then installed with LILO - successfilly (Install 2)
You tried to load the nvidia drivers allegedly for your card - failed - reboot gave you the error SuSE...too big. So what did you do? You reinstalled - which should have fixed anything, after all, you know it works.
Install SuSE with LILO - failed (install 3)

OK - try again, only this time don't keep any existing linux partitions. You don't knwo where the fault lies so don't keep anything! A clean install to a reformatted drive will put you back to install 2 position.

Then - tell us about your video card (search the forums and look it up in the HCL)
