HI
I've just installed Mandrake 8.1 (a couple of times actually!) and I've got the following I hope someone can help me with.
Firstly, since I've installed it a couple of times, there are about 8 items in the lilo bootup menu, is there a way to get rid of all the old_XXX ones, without causing it not to boot?
In regards to Xwindows, when X starts up, the picture is not clear, the font is almost unreadable (it's like when you run through the install program), everything is just not clear and smooth.
The first time I installed it, it was nice so there are no issues with the monitor. Some config file I'm sure must have changed? Anyone got any ideas?

Yes, in the Mandrake control center you can configure lilo and remove old entries.

Go the the KDE control center and adjust the settings in "Look and Feel" untill you get it the way you like, in particular look for "Use Anti-Aliasing for Fonts and Icons" in the "Fonts" section and make sure the box is checked.
Well, none of that worked, so I just did an install again, this time in the install, I formatted all the linux partitions, lo and behold everything went well except I can't get the damn winmodem to work, but I'll post another thread with that
