lilo


i use lilo bootloader and the background behind the log in screen is the boreing default and i want to change it. i have been looking around my computer for the image file but am not able to find it.

i renamed the picture i like to the name of the original and then copied it on top of it but it didnt work.

i pasted over teh pictures in :

/usr/share/wallpapers

and

/usr/share/themes/mandriva/images (or something close to that)

can someone plz help me?

it's not an image file you're able to mess around with really. it's stored in your MBR, not on the filesystem. not something easily changed. it is pretty easy to mess around with grub though.

I think the wallpaper is an option in /etc/lilo.conf, which you need to edit before reinstalling the bootloader (thus saving your changes to the MBR).

To reinstall the bootloader, you need to run
Code:
/sbin/lilo
