Lightweight IDE for a netbook?

I am developing a program so like to have a program which has a terminal and text editor with syntax highlighting, so normally I use Geany. Unfortunately, this has lots of clutter so would not be very good on my 9" netbook. Are there any programs more suited to the 9" screen?

Oh, the code is C, so preferably syntax highlighting for C.

I came into this topic to suggest Geany, as that is the lightest IDE I am aware of, but if you don't want that I'm not sure.

By 'light' I meant light as in size. For now I am going to try Geany and gEdit (Terminal added) and see which I prefer most.
