licq error message, installation aborts!?!

I go to http://www.licq.org/download.html. I download licq-1.2.4.i386.rpm. I run the file, it says preparing system update and I am prompted with a message that says:

Unlocatable Package | Required by
-------------------------------------------------
licq = 1.2.0a | licq-kde

now the only option I am presented with is [OK]....I press ok and the installation terminates. What can I do? I have no idea. I am running Red Hat linux 8.0 on this machine.

Instead of licq 1.2.4 have you looked into licq 1.2.0a? That's what I've got and it works really well. It look as though that RPM you downloaded is looking for an older version of Licq (which is weird IMHO). If you can't find a copy of licq-1.2.0a let me know and I'll email you the tarball--I think I've still got it lying around on my system somewhere.
