libwx_gtk-2.4.so
I have windows and linux on my PC in a dual boot setup. I would like to use linux more often but most of the P2P apps I use work in windows. There are replacements for basically all of these programs which work in linux. Most need the wxwindows toolkit. I downloaded it and installed it but when I try to run a program like xmule or lmule I get a message saying something about libwx_gtk-2.4.so not being found. Can someone tell me what to do to get these programs to work in step by step instructions. I have mandrake 9.1 by the way.

I first downloaded the source then compiled it and installed it. When I tried to run a program like lmule I got the message. So I tried downloading the RPM and installing that. I get the same problem.

I found the libwx_gtk-2.4.so file. It was located at:
/usr/local/lib/
the install of wxwindows told me to edit the LD_LIBRARY_PATH
How do I edit LD_LIBRARY_PATH?

I just copied that file libwx_gtk-2.4.so.0.0.0 to /usr/lib and renamed it libwx_gtk-2.4.so
That fixed the errors for me. I needed it to run Audacity.
Hope that helps.
