libstdc++.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file

Hi

I'm trying to find this version of libstdc.
I'm trying out the LibB program to construct Bayesian Networks for research purposes. You can find it here:
http://www.cs.huji.ac.il/labs/compbi.../programs.html
If you download it and run for example ./GenInstance, it will give this error.

Is there anyway I can find this library somewhere? It was used in Linux 2.1. A quick google search tells me it's not that easy apparently.

PS: My pc is 64bit.

Thanks in advance.

Hi...

Welcome to the forum

Do any of the files here help...

http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat...tdc%2B%2B.so.3

Since your system is 64 bit, I'm not sure how well that's going to work, though.

Regards...

you do know that that code is pre 2000
it is three GENERATIONS of software and hardware out of date
the linux 2.1 kernel is ANCIENT it is from 1996

are you using a OLD desktop (or 20 year old hardware) that had win95 installed

there is NO WAY you can install a 16 bit operating system on 64 bit hardware

i am not even sure that Vmware supports 16 bit operating systems
a 32 bit yes but the antique RH7 in the above link ??????? maybe

look for 20 year old computers to use

If not, and if nothing else will work, that's certainly an idea. ebay usually has a number of retroboxes for sale at any given time.

While you can install Red Hat Linux 7.3 "Valhalla" in VMware, QEMU or Virtualbox why not check more current software here or here?..

Well, I have to use it on a modern system in combination with software that is rather new
So I guess I have to look for an alternative that does the same thing. Maybe someone knows software that can generate artificial examples from a bayesian network?
