libsip dependency issue

I am trying to get graphiteone to work and it requires libsip however when I attempted to apt-get libsip it came up with "no installation candidate". By the way, I am running Debian Etch. I then located libsip for the previous version (Sarge, I think) and attempted to install it, but it depends on libqt2, which depends on libpng2, which depends on libpng10, which conflicts with a very long list of packages in Etch. Does anyone know a way around this predicament? I would greatly appreciate it.
