LibreOffice5 Calc spreadsheet taking data from two other spreadsheets?

I use Linux Mint 17.3 Rosa Cinnamon, with LibreOffice5 Calc.

I have two spreadsheets filled with lots of accounting figures. They are identical in structure except that the numbers in the corresponding individual cells differ.

I want to compare these two spreadsheets to see how the numbers differ. I expect this means setting up a third spreadsheet that will show the differences.

How can I do this please? For example how can I get a number from a cell in another spreadsheet? Or is there another way to do it?

I want to apply this to many different pairs of spreadsheets, not just a particular two.

Check the help files. What you want is fully explained under 'referencing other cells/documents'.
