Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

I am running Mint Debian and want to use the spell checker on Libreoffice, but it doesn't seem to work, it never check any words or highlight the wrong spelled one, it just said spell check completed and finish. I tried to use the extension manager to add the dictionary, but it redirected me to a download page that I can't find anything to download. I installed Openoffice to try but the same result, it looks like both Office suites are out of maintenance, please advise thanks !
Btw, I and typing this with Firefox and it got spell check working, I believe there is something to do with the in build spell checker on the system, but I don't know how to link it up with Libreoffice.
I just installed Abiword and the spell checker works, I don't know it came with the dictionary or using the one on the system.
Distribution: Slackware (current), FreeBSD, Win10, It varies

I do not, or, no longer have LibreOffice installed, but I think you have to install the lang dictionary, it should be in your repo too. then in preferences set it to spell check, or look at the drop down menu until you find something on it then select a spell check option to turn it on. as usual the spell check is not 100 percent bullet proof.
You could look in the Debian repository with Synaptic or you could download from here http://extensions.libreoffice.org/ex...h-dictionaries
Note the link on that page to a pdf on installing extensions, if you need it.
in Debian you have the choice to perform spellckeck of LibreOffice either with the "myspell-*" or with the "hunspell-*" packages. You should find them in the repositories.
